"All rules" and "Classic only" flag digits that break a rule — which a wrong digit needn't do, so one can sit unflagged until a later deduction contradicts it. "Wrong digits" compares against the solution and marks any digit that doesn't match, so a mistake shows the moment you make it. "Classic only" stays quiet about variant rules, so it can't spoil a deduction.
